Jerry Towns

President/CEO – Shadow Protective Services – SPS500

Shadow Protective Services Task Force

With over fourteen years of experience in the military, diplomatic protection, and executive security services, Mr. Towns is the president of Shadow Protective Services – SPS500, providing executive protection, private investigations, tactical education, military training, weapons instruction, and security consultant services.

Mr. Towns Joined the Marine Corps in the late Eighties where he reached the rank of SGT. He completed his active duty tour with a special operations unit ANGLICO departing the Marine Corps in the Mid Nineties. Mr. Towns began working jobs in the security sector night clubs private Parties and Secure commodities transport this did not feed his passion Mr. Towns decided it was time to make a change. Seeking advancement relentlessly Mr. Towns relocated and completed training to become a Licensed Bail enforcer. As a Licensed Bail enforcer, Mr. Towns had the authority to apprehend, capture/recapture, and recover fugitives from the US justice system often directly responsible for the Capture of dangerous felons.

The Dept. of Defense Provided the first opportunity the position was Security Technician, as a security technician. Mr. Towns was the Technician personally responsible for the safe transport of all Corporate VIP personnel He was also responsible for the secure transportation of Millions of dollars that needed to be transported throughout the theater of IRAQ this was basically the funds needed to operate through Operation Iraq Freedom.

WPPS II (Worldwide Personal Protective Services II) WPS I (Worldwide Protective Services) certified, Mr. Towns has completed numerous executive protection courses and has served as a Personal Security Specialist for a private military company in Iraq from 2010 to the present. He served in multiple locations in the Middle East in a high-threat protection (HTP) environment during combat operations in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM & Operation NEW DAWN. He has driven every vehicle in the protective motorcade to include the principle’s limousine for a tier-1 asset and has served in every position from Shift Leader to Team Commander on an executive protection assignment. He has worked in the protective security arena on HTP personal security details, Quick Reaction Force Team Leader, and was commended by the PMC leadership during a causality recovery mission. He culminated his HTP service as a member of the United States Ambassador to Iraq’s protective detail (APD) responsible for protecting the deputy chief of missions for United States personnel, congressional delegations, general officers, foreign dignitaries & foreign heads of state.

In 2013 Mr. Towns was hand-selected to participate in an experimental Mentorship/Training operation in the Kurdistan region of Northern Iraq. This mentorship program is designed to provide the local nationals the training and guidance to execute an effective private security Detail Capable of professional security for some of the US highest-ranking Diplomats after working on this project for a while Mr. Towns was again hand-selected to participate in a separate mission in which he has been given a team of nine local nationals to mentor as they hone their skills to become an effective PSD confident enough to provide protection for Stationed and visiting ex-pats.

Jerry Towns along with Muhammad Bilal partnered on this project; Shadow Protective Services – SPS500 with the intent of merging the tactical proficiency of the high threat protection assignments he has used in the past with the precision of the military operations. He was personally selected for executive protection teams throughout the southeast from Raleigh to Atlanta. Originally from Chicago IL he is a world traveler and has visited several foreign countries in some capacity or another. He is a licensed private investigator, armed security officer, courier, and small business owner. Mr. Towns currently resides in the Fort Bragg/Fayetteville, NC area.

Matthew (Doc) Miller

Director of Operations, DC/Metro Region – Shadow Protective Services – SPS500

Shadow Protective Services Task Force

Mr. Miller is the Director of Operations for the Maryland office (DC/Metro Region Operations) of Shadow Protective Services – SPS500. With over 20 years of Military, Security, Executive Protection, and Emergency Medicine he is the newest member of the SPS management team

Mr. Miller’s professional experience began in the Marine Corps where he learned the discipline for the security field. He later worked as a security officer at NASA while he was attending college to pursue a career as a Paramedic. His Paramedic background would take him to a career with the Anne Arundel County Fire Department in Maryland and as a Flight Medic with the Maryland Army National Guard. During his military career, he was deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom twice. His first tour was with a Medevac Unit where he was the Senior Flight Medic, Non-Rated Flight Instructor, and Non-Rated Standardization Instructor. He also was the primary instructor teaching flight medicine to Physicians and Nurses used in flight operations within the Theater of Operations. During his second tour, he was assigned to an Infantry Company as the Company Medic. His primary role was in direct support of combat operations within the Infantry Platoon. For his military service, he received multiple awards to include the Air Medal and Two Bronze Star Medals, One with a “V” device for valor.

Mr. Miller would return to and retire from his career with the Fire Department as a Lieutenant. His primary role was as a Paramedic on a transport unit. After his promotion to Lieutenant, he was assigned to the Health and Safety office as the Infection Control Officer and Safety Officer. He also worked as a Fire Suppression and EMS Officer. Mr. Miller was a certified Instructor and Regional Faculty in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, CPR, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. He was also an Instructor and Affiliate Faculty in Basic Trauma Life Support. He has been a Paramedic for over twenty years.

Mr. Miller completed WPS training and worked for a Private Military Contractor in Iraq. He was assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq on multiple Protection Details to include the Ambassadors Protection Detail (APD) in direct support of the Chief of Missions in Iraq, U.S. dignitaries, military General Officers, Congressional representatives, and other American support personnel. He would later be hand selected for a small mentoring program at the U.S. Consulate General in Kurdistan Iraq. He was assigned as a Team Medic but has worked every position in the Executive Protection Operation to include Shift Lead, Tactical Commander, Limousine Driver, and Detail Advance Operations.

Mr. Miller was selected to stand up and be the Director of Operations of the new office in Maryland (DC/Metro Region) of Shadow Protective Services – SPS500 in early 2016 with the intent of continuing Shadows vision of merging the tactical proficiency of the high threat protection assignments and military precision. Mr. Miller believes in delivering the highest professional standards and discipline to the clients of Shadow Protective Services – SPS500 and hand selects the personnel he will deploy to those clients. He has visited 10 other foreign countries. He is a retired combat veteran, licensed armed security specialist, and member of the North American Bodyguard Association. He currently resides in Delaware on the Delmarva Peninsula.
